2.5 Hour Use Portable Fire Fighting Equipment Training PRMPFESO5B
Price: $120.00 per person
Minimum preferred group size 6
This is a unit of competency that is nationally endorsed with the Australian Quality Training Framework and is audited by the Training and Accreditation Council of Western Australia. Please be aware that a number of small businesses (NON RTO's) are only providing non-accredited training so that participants are only presented with a Certificate of Competency. This almost certainly will not comply with Occupational Health & Safety or insurance requirements. Many businesses such as those in the mining industry require accredited training to provide the necessary skills and theory for future and existing employees. This competency may be used simply as a way to use fire equipment safely or as a core unit for the Certificate II in Asset Maintenance (Fire protection equipment).
Who will benefit from attending this training session?
- Mining companies and support services generally require employees to have gained this training either at induction or every 2 years.
- Retail sector employees(Banking, shopping centers).
- Qualification entry level for the waste management, carpet cleaning, cleaning operations and fire protection equipment sectors.
- The health and community sector (Hospitals, aged care and community groups).
- Manufacturing and construction.
Course content:
- Power-point presentation including basic occupational health and safety and evacuation procedures, theory of combustion, fire safety presentation, classification of fire, principals of extinguishment, fire spread and types of fire extinguishers followed by:
- Practical use of fire extinguishers, fire blanket and hose reel (Bullex or our portable gas training system)
- Practical assessment, theory assessment and course evaluation.
- Assessment will be conducted by Fire Alert with successful participants gaining a nationally endorsed Statement of Attainment (competent).
- The Statements of Attainment will be provided to participants on the same day or sent to the employer within 7 days.
The Bullex ITS fire equipment and our new compact gas training systems are very safe and do not require standard fire extinguishers such as messy dry chemical powders and have minimal effect on the environment.
All safety equipment is provided including safety glasses and gloves however we require participants to have fully enclosed footwear and long sleeves.
