Policies

1. Access and Equity Policy 2012

Working effectively with others

The Western Australian government states that access to employment and training should be available regardless of gender, socioeconomic background, disability, ethnic origin, age or race. Australia is a diverse culture and businesses need to reflect this through a focus on access and equity policy.

Fire Alert will provide training and assessment that subject to Training Package guidance, can be modified including the physical environment, equipment and training and assessment materials for learners. We believe strongly in the notion that the destination for all learners is the same but the journey may be different. Employers and participants are required to contact Fire Alert to inform us about access and equity concerns: admin@firealert.com.au

2. Payment Policy 2012

Fire Alert does not hold fees in advance as we prefer to send invoices to our clients via e-mail or mail requiring payment for services within 14 days after receipt of the invoice. We prefer payment to be made through our banking facility or by cheque to our business address noted on the invoice.

3. Code of conduct

Our Code of Conduct is basically a set of standards describing the behavior we expect from our own people and we expect this conduct to be an integral part of the way we work every day.

4. Fire Alert cancellation/reschedule policy

Please note that late cancellations for training within 24 hours will necessitate the payment of an administration fee of $50.00. You are required to notify Fire Alert through our E-mail or business address so that cancellation occurs before the 24 hour cancellation period. However in most circumstances we are happy to reschedule training to a suitable time in which no administration fee will apply (You may be required to sit in with another external training group)

5. Refund policy

As an RTO we do not collect funds or fees prior to delivering training and assessment. Participants including members from an employer group who are deemed not competent will not be eligible for refund and will be required to conform with our re-sit policy.

6. Assessment Re-Sit policy

When participants do not achieve competencies in either theory or practical assessments they are offered a re-sit within 2 weeks. This time period is required so that each participant maintains recent information and skill levels that will support competency achievement.

7. Training and Assessment Guarantee

Fire Alert provides nationally accredited training for the unit of competency "Use portable fire fighting equipment" PRMPFESO5B in addition to future accredited units. The business guarantees the completion of training and assessment once the client has confirmed the booking date. If Fire Alert cannot provide training and assessment due to a valid reason (severe weather), we will arrange for a new course date and time to the satisfaction of the client.

8. Cross cultural awareness

The CEO of Fire Alert has completed the Cross Cultural Awareness program at Bold Park, Perth (2010) to gain an understanding of the challenges that indigenous communities face and to further develop interactive and cross cultural communication skills. We urge business, community and indigenous groups to register for fire safety training which reinforces our philosophy of providing training to disadvantaged groups. Consequently we are now offering 10% discount for our accredited training.
