Policies
1. Access and Equity Policy 2012
Working effectively with others
The Western Australian government states that access to employment and training should be available regardless of gender, socioeconomic background, disability, ethnic origin, age or race. Australia is a diverse culture and businesses need to reflect this through a focus on access and equity policy.
Fire Alert will provide training and assessment that subject to Training Package guidance, can be modified including the physical environment, equipment and training and assessment materials for learners. We believe strongly in the notion that the destination for all learners is the same but the journey may be different. Employers and participants are required to contact Fire Alert to inform us about access and equity concerns: admin@firealert.com.au
Our Access and Equity Operating Principals:
- Fire Alert's training and assessment services are delivered in a non-discriminatory, open and respectful manner.
- Fire Alert as an RTO, will ensure that our trainers and staff are appropriately skilled in access and equity issues, including cultural awareness and sensitivity to the requirements of clients with special needs at our induction program.
- Fire Alert will liaise with workplace management (Pre Registration process) to ensure that facilities provide access to clients of all levels of mobility, physical and intellectual capacity (In some circumstances we may require learners to contact other organisation to strengthen English competency.
- Client selection for training opportunities is conducted in a manner that includes and reflects the diverse client population. This web site provides information for potential participants so that they can make an informed choice. Fire Alert encourages the participation of clients from groups traditionally disadvantaged in the labor market.
- Fire Alert is aware and will try to ensure that training is culturally inclusive subject to information provided by the client.
- We are accountable for our performance in adhering to the principles of this policy, and welcome feedback as part of our quality improvement process.
